English Football Learning Experts Embraces Greater China in the 21st Century - share the prosperity of a new Asia
To rejuvenate China’s football industry, in the new era of the 21st century, China, according to the plans and schemes that have been promulgated, takes the whole society’s strength to implement the football education reform and popularization. One of the most important actions is to vigorously develop the School football culture education of teenagers. In recent years, China’s education and sports departments at all levels and schools at different levels have attached great importance to School football teaching, and students, parents, and public forces have also actively participated in football sports. Based on the publics’ increasing awareness on School football, the joint support of all social resources will certainly strengthen the coordination between China’s football reform institutions and social forces, which will certainly contribute to the continuous level improvement and achievements making of China’s School football teaching and the continuous level improvement of teenagers’ football on School and in communities. This will lay a solid foundation for building China in the new era into one of the important countries with the core industrial chain (green environmental protection and new material application, research & development, production and sales) of famous international football education and football industry brands, and for the realization of China’s vision to become a world’s powerhouse in football education and industry.
Dr Sun Yi Xian’s Youth Foundation application planning setup in England, registered by guarantee as a charity of a non-profit organization in 2003, has established the “The Sino-U.K School Football Project” after over 10 years of early development raised the funds. The English Schools’ Football Association (ESFA) was approached to assist and support in developing the project in Greater China (including Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau). The ESFA, founded in 1904, is a full member of the English Football Association and the Schools’ Association Football International Board (SAFIB). SAFIB incorporates the aims and objectives of the youth programmes of 26 national football associations provides the modern football teaching system of England and technical supports for it. With the support of the General Administration of Sport of China and the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, Dr Sun Yi Xian’s Youth Foundation successfully held the First-Session The Sino-U.K School Football Project - Football Education Exchange Programme & Match and Competition Event in August 2006. In this project, China sent a 25-member delegation from the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China (U18 School football team of San’gao Football Club) to participate in friendly matches and exchange activities in England with the U18 international team of English Schools’ football. The Sino-UK School Football project attaches great importance to, cares and support for Her Majesty the Queen of England and have received the letter of approval from the heads of the relevant authorities of the British government institutions in charge of culture, news, and sports for unanimously recognizing and supporting the far-reaching significance and development ideas of “The Sino-U.K School Football Project”, which will build a new path for the long-lasting friendship between China and UK and the teenagers of the global.
On 13 May 2012, Dr Sun Yi Xian’s Youth Foundation, on behalf of “The Sino-U.K School Football Project”, entered into a 15-year agreement with the organizations responsible for football teaching, coaches and the development of modern football textbooks, including teaching experts from The FA Group. This Project aims to help Greater China (including mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau) cultivate talent in football teaching and football education industry management, by grasping modern ideas from English football teaching and popularization, generating reforms by cultivating football teaching talent, and compiling textbooks for football teachers, coaches and football majors in universities and colleges, etc. It also aims to facilitate co-development between England and China of football teaching, coaches, and a football education industry, and, together, to promote culture, education and sport in the fast lane!
Additionally, The Sino-U.K School Football Project’s ambition is to achieve the co-development by China and the world’s football powerhouses of football education, culture and industry. A further aim is to implement football education and popularization, by working with experienced English football teaching experts and Chinese football teaching talent to develop a series of advanced and comprehensive textbooks (in both Chinese and English), suited to China’s national conditions for modern football teachers and coaches, and with independent intellectual property rights belonging to China. These textbooks will be the basis for China to implement teaching and popularization of teenage football by improving skills, grasping the essence of modern football training and coaching, and complying with the rules and regulations of football management technologies.
Jade can be polished by stones from other hills. Based on the rich experience of England in the development of modern football, the “The Sino-U.K School Football Project” planned to introduce into China the successful experience of England in effective teaching and popularization of School and community football. With the support of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, Zhongshan Education and Sports Bureau, Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Tongji University, and relevant institutions of Government in China and England, the “The Sino-U.K School Football Project” was launched in May 2012 and successfully held seven “The Sino-U.K School Football Project - English School Football Teaching Programme” courses in Zhongshan and Shanghai on a trial basis from October 2013 to July 2017 (the first stage and second stage of this Project). On the course, regular School football and teenage community football brand new textbooks developed by English football teaching experts were used, and experts from England and other European countries with extensive experience in School football teaching were invited to China to give lessons. Over nearly five years, the “The Sino-U.K School Football Project” has systematically trained more than 530 students (from the basic level mainly teachers and coaches engaged in School football in mainland China and Taiwan) from 12 provinces and cities in Mainland China and Taiwan. We believe that this project can: boost China to implement teenage and School football teaching; promote teaching and cultural exchange activities in Greater China; enable learning from the enlightened modern football teaching culture in England; and realize the long-term vision of deep cooperation between China and England in football culture and industry!
Unlike other youth training programmes provided by national football associations and commercial sources, the “The Sino-U.K School Football Project” uses the medium of football to promote well-being, teamwork, decision-making and a number of other skills required for teenagers to grow into well rounded and talented adults. Although the programme is “for all”, it will inevitably enhance the skills and development of future national teams. There are clear national policies formulated by the sovereign state: the joint participation or support of government agencies, enterprises, and social forces at all levels; guidelines and relevant codes on modern football teaching; senior, dedicated modern football teaching experts; and teachers and coaches with scientific and systematic knowledge of football teaching and community teenage and School football popularization. We suggest that China should design the most advanced modern football teaching and application courses to support its long-term development goals. With the recently developed English School Football Teaching Programme and the successful teaching experience gained to date, the “The Sino-U.K School Football Project” can provide teaching talent and services for football development in Greater China, encouraging institutions and friendly people who love football culture around the world to share the fruitful results of the opening of Greater China’s football education and industry, and promote football education in Greater China. England has a long and successful history of football education and popularization through modern teaching and has become one of the core representative countries of the global soft power sports culture industry in the promotion of public health. English football has driven the development of teenage football in schools and communities; guided the public to recognize modern football culture and entertainment programmes; promoted social activities; expanded employment opportunities for the people; improved national fiscal revenues; promoted the continuous reforms of social goods in the production and consumption structure; and ensured a steady increase in contribution to national GDP of the sports soft power industry. It has thus become a successful model for creating opportunities for modern social football achievements. China may carry out reforms in modern football teaching and industry by reference to the history and experience of England and other European countries with a developed football culture. It can drive the cooperation of China and relevant regions in Asian football education; support in-depth reform in football education culture and industry; share the bonus of global economic and cultural cooperation from China’s practice of “the Belt and Road” initiative; and be conducive to introducing teaching experts from England and other European countries, who have advanced teaching experience and modern textbooks, to Greater China and other Asian countries.
To realize the above goals, it is necessary to further strengthen the confidence and coordinated implementation of China’s football reform governing agencies, universities, primary and secondary schools, and social forces in China’s long-term football plan with the policy support of China’s deepening reform in economic, cultural, sports and other fields in the new era. In view of feelings of modern football education and popularization in England, Chinese football governing departments may negotiate with Dr Sun Yi Xian’s Youth Foundation to share the teaching course plans for the training of football teachers and coaches. Over more than 10 years of exploration and research, these teaching course plans have been implemented in the Sino-UK School Football Project (at the first stage) successfully on a pilot basis. At present, the core work is to build a team of experts with rich knowledge and experience in football teaching in China, England, and other European countries to cultivate world-class football teaching talents and coaches for China and Asia in the 21st century.
Dr Sun Yi Xian’s Youth Foundation appeals to all Chinese people around the world to jointly support the deep reforms in China’s football cause, work together with the elite teams of football teaching experts of England and other European countries, cooperate with foreign-friendly people who support China’s football education and industry reforms, devote to perfecting new schemes on China’s modern football enlightenment education and popularization and promote teenagers’ bodybuilding and comprehensive quality. Dr Sun Yi Xian’s Youth Foundation will strive for obtaining the approvals from relevant provincial/city’s governing agencies in China and building the first “The Sino-UK Football (Asia) Education Park” to introduce the advanced football education, football economy, football brands, football media, football rules, and regulations and other football disciplines from England and other European countries to help China fully learn from the historical management experience of the English modern football culture in promoting the development of the football industry and promoting the social employment. After building, the “The Sino-UK Football (Asia) Education Park” will certainly and instantly play a leading role in China’s ongoing football teaching reforms and providing England and Europe high-level football education services for teenagers’ football lovers, including teenage football players and their parents, School football teachers and coaches, managers of football education institutions and amateurs, in rural and urban areas of China, and thus enable trainees (especially teenage players and employees from middle-income and low-income families) to receive the systematic teaching by English high-level football teaching experts working in China of the “The Sino-U.K School Football Project” at zero distance without going abroad to seamlessly receive the most advanced international teenagers’ football education ideas and practice guidance.
We believe that China will certainly make excellent achievements in education, popularization, and reforms of teenagers’ football on School and in communities. This will be conducive to inspiring the long-term development of the people’s love of football culture and inspiring every Chinese person to take the responsibility for promoting the building of the spirit of patriotism and teamwork and the traditional virtue of “Loving China” to promote the education culture development and popularization of teenagers’ football in China. This will also promote the modern football to become the “national sport of China”, help China to become one of the consumption powerhouses in football education culture and creative industries in the world, Committed to The Sino-UK football relationship of the teaching, coaches and football industry through the development of modern Internet enterprises, boost the efficiency of the global consumer market, promote new product design, improve product quality manufacturing, and promote the common interests of China, Britain and the global, and boost the co-development of the Greater China, Prosperity New Asia and England with other countries in the world in economy, culture, education, sports and creative industries in the golden era.

Children must be treated like children on the pitch-school football training in the eyes of English coach James Houchen
Source: Xinhua News Agency 2018-07-24 10:59
English youth football coach Jamie said at the completion ceremony of the second phase of The Sino-UK School Football Project that students should understand that children should be treated in the way of children, not adults. Xinhua News Agency, Shanghai, July 24th. Question: Children should be treated like children on the court-school football training in the eyes of English coach Jamie. Zhu Hong Huang Wentao
"In the 5+2 course training and assessment cycle, the performance of the Chinese students is still good. They have significantly improved both in terms of self-confidence in communication and the mastery of specific football skills." English Youth Football Coach Jamie said at the completion ceremony of the second phase of The Sino-UK School Football Project, “Students must understand that children should be treated like children on the pitch, not as adults.”
Recently, the second phase of The Sino-UK School Football Project -English School football Teaching Programme training class held a closing ceremony at Shanghai Tongji University. Among all 73 students, 65 students who passed the examination were awarded The Sino-UK School Football Project Foundation Football Training Certificate. In the 7-day training course, the trainees are divided into 3 groups, each group is guided by two senior English football coaches.
As an "old coach" with 25 years of football coaching experience and a UEFA A-level coaching certificate, Jamie's rich community football teaching experience makes his teaching practical and interesting. The students feel that learning is very stressful but not too nervous, because Jamie often encourages them to express and perform actions with confidence.
"I think the 5+2 training model is very good. In the first 5 days, we taught the students basic teaching concepts and norms, teaching methods, technical actions, etc.; the next 2 days is the assessment period, and the students will immediately respond according to the content learned. Children in the younger age group teach football, and we take their on-site performance as an assessment basis." Jamie said. This "learning is to use, learning to apply" approach allows students to pay more attention to learning and communication in practice, rather than hope to obtain a certificate through a test paper.
"For the students, this is a great opportunity-as young coaches, they benefit from our experience and then become good coaches for the children. They can better understand how to deal with the individual needs of the children and create a positive learning environment for children."
Jamie and another coach are responsible for the training of students in the 17 to 20 age group. Jamie believes that children need to be treated as children on the court, not as adults, so that they will bravely try, take risks, and make mistakes without being punished.
Wang Jibin is the second group of this training course. Before that, his job was to teach college students at the International Football College of Tongji University. "The actual teaching in the next two days is a big challenge for me. I originally taught football to college students. There is a significant difference between children and college students. Although I particularly like these children, the problem is that there are too many children and I want to organize an orderly, interesting, and enjoyable game for students is very difficult." Wang Jibin told reporters that he encountered many challenges in this training class, but he also learned a lot, "especially the teaching concepts and teaching methods. Promote".
"If you look at the football skills of children, especially younger children, I think they are accelerating to catch up with the children in Europe. From the teaching these days, we can see that the children often play football and are very good. To understand how to work together to complete a game." With his rich teaching experience across Europe, Jamie pointed out that the "boy scouts" of Chinese football have a promising future.
Through this teaching in China, Jamie believes that what China lacks is not football skills, but football culture. "As long as China has a positive learning environment, children will be able to thrive, and more and more children will like football-because there is no longer a factor that scares them, they just enjoy football and then love football. I think Now we just need to provide the children with the right opportunities to help them improve-more opportunities for children to run, try and grow into excellent players without fear."
"We are very happy that every student has gained insights and gains from the training course." Mr Nelson Cheng, director general of the Dr Sun Yi Xian’s Youth Foundation, said in an interview. "We have observed through these years that despite the rapid development of School football in China, However, the degree of regularization and specialization is not enough, especially young people generally lack the guidance of professional football coaches. Therefore, the foundation and the FA have signed a 15-year school football cooperation agreement to hire English football teaching experts to learn from the British Compile teaching materials with experience to cultivate internationally certified football teaching talents for China."
At the graduation ceremony, the Dr Sun Yi Xian’s Youth Foundation and the International Football College of Tongji University signed a strategic cooperation agreement on the establishment of "The Sino-UK Football (Asia) Tongji Education Park". According to the agreement, the two parties will train more than 15,000 basic teachers of school football teaching in the next five years; and then train more than 300 elite football teachers through intermediate and advanced training.
Let universities become a viable force for school football promotion
Source: China Youth Daily 23 July, 2018 09:20
The second phase of The Sino-UK School Football Project English School Football Teaching Programme was recently opened at Tongji University in Shanghai. Among the 74 students, 1/3 are students from Tongji University. According to the training plan, there will be more college students in the next 5 years. Participating in this training course-these college students who love football and are interested in becoming full-time, part-time or non-profit football coaches are expected to become a new force to promote the promotion of domestic school football.
The one-week training course made Fu Huanzhe, the captain of the Tongji University football team (school team) deeply feel. "It's the first time I know that football can still be taught in this way," Fu Huanzhe told a reporter from China Youth Daily China Youth Online. "What I feel most deeply is the new understanding of the concept of football. I used to think that football teaching is mainly teaching football. Skills, tactics and physical fitness, only now I know that players’ psychology, communication and cooperation between players should be placed in a more important position. For school football, football should be a thing that makes children feel happy. ."
Fu Huanzhe has liked to play football since he was a child, but to his regret, he basically did not receive any professional and scientific guidance when he was a child. He could only “play blindly”. As a result, he suffered a lot of injuries. Guiding, I should be able to avoid these unnecessary injuries." Fu Huanzhe said that his regrets when he was a child made him interested in becoming an amateur football coach and coaching young players.
But Fu Huanzhe also knows that realizing his wishes requires him to have a certain level of football teaching, not just football skills. Fortunately, the "Second Phase of The Sino-UK School Football Project —English School Football Teaching Programme" put university students as an important training group, and Fu Huanzhe got the opportunity to receive the most advanced football teaching and training courses in England. , The one-week course allowed him to subvert his original football teaching concept-teaching children to play football in a way of combining teaching and education, rather than just teaching. Fu Huanzhe said that this also allows him to understand football from another angle.
Unlike Fu Huanzhe, who was admitted to the university as an ordinary college entrance examination candidate, Yang Dihui, a member of the Tongji University football team (high-level group), is a special football student. In his future career plan, he himself has the option of becoming a football coach. As a young man, Yang Huihui is eager to acquire new knowledge. When he discovered that football teaching can be used in entertaining and inspiring new methods, he can't wait to add these new methods to his team's daily training.
"Our traditional football training pays more attention to the technical and tactical training effects, but the training method in England pays more attention to the process and details. The training concept is also based on the guidance of the players. It can be said that in participating in such After training, everyone's body is very tired, but the heart is very relaxed, and the whole process is very enjoyable." Yang Weihui said, recalling his football training experience and seeing the training process of children playing football next to him, but not so relaxed.
Yang Feihui believes that England’s football training concepts and methods are indeed more advanced than China’s, but they cannot be fully accepted and need to be viewed dialectically. He said that we can learn from the concepts and methods of football teaching in England, but some of China’s teaching concepts and methods have national conditions and characteristics. Methods should also be retained. For example, in terms of disciplinary requirements for children, he believes that the Chinese method is more effective.
According to the reporter's understanding, in January 2017, Tongji University established the International Football Academy and reached and signed a 10-year strategic cooperation agreement with the Dr Sun Yi Xian’s Youth Foundation. According to the agreement, the two parties will jointly host and implement the first plan of the second phase of The Sino-UK School Football Project -to hold rotating training courses in the next 5 years to train more than 15,000 standard football teachers, and on this basis, strive to Train more than 300 elite football lecturers who can be recognized by the Football Association, UEFA or equivalent institutions.
In recent years, China’s school football has developed rapidly, but it has also encountered many problems. In terms of teacher training, the original football teaching system is in urgent need of concept improvement and knowledge update. Mr Nelson Cheng, director general of the Dr Sun Yi Xian’s Youth Foundation (UK), said that one of the main tasks of the second phase of The Sino-UK School Football Project is to train football coaches with more advanced teaching concepts and teaching capabilities for China, except for primary and secondary school physical education teachers and social football clubs. In addition to football coaches as training objects, university students are included in the training scope for the first time. The main focus is that they accept new knowledge quickly. In addition, they are also future parents. They master more advanced football teaching concepts and help Participate in football and play a positive role in football.
Mr Jamie Houchen, director of football education and culture of Dr Sun Yi Xian’s Youth Foundation, once introduced to reporters that in England, 80% of grassroots football coaches are parents. In the development of school football and community youth football, parents are the most important teachers. power.
However, the current domestic school football is still facing many challenges in terms of teacher training. A junior high school physical education teacher who participated in this training told reporters that the pressure of entering a higher school has a great impact on the school and parents. The pressure of students’ learning is always an unavoidable problem. With the improvement of grades, the time for children to play football Fewer and fewer. When the vast majority of students have no time to play football, those who stay to play often have stronger utilitarian goals, such as extra points for game scores and advancement.
In addition to the pressure of entering higher education, how can teachers, coaches and university students who have received training in new ideas and concepts apply what they have learned is also a problem. Liang Tongfu, associate professor of the International Football College of Tongji University, told reporters that the inherent football teaching thinking has a profound impact on teachers and coaches. These teachers and coaches who have received training in the new concept will easily be caught again after returning to school and society. The old ideas and methods of other teachers and coaches are assimilated. Therefore, this type of training cannot be done in a single point but must be widely carried out in every school and every region. (Cixin)

England school football expert says ‘Having educational logic does make a big impact’
Our original logic on teaching football is like following a single track which has lack of flexibility, whereas the English way of teaching is interactive and it's like following a dual carriage way allowing flexibility and creativity. This can allow students to fully enjoy the happy experience of football. Unfortunately, our traditional way of teaching football is very prone to causing students feeling anxious and bored of the sport and therefore it is ineffective and it will therefore be harder to teach them.
